I ordered this microwave because of all the great reviews. It came yesterday and unfortunately I had to send it right back. The turntable made a horrible grinding noise anytime you used it. The lighter the item I was cooking, the quieter the noise, but it was just too much to put up with.
I also noticed that the packing styrofoam pieces were broken and some were even missing. It made me wonder if someone had already returned it.
Even if I got a dud or a return, I didn't like how far the attachment part of the power plug sticks out the back. It makes it impossible to put the microwave evenly against a wall. Since you must push a button inwards to open the microwave door, each time you do the microwave scoots a little because it's not fully against the wall. So I know I'd always be straightening it. Also, the start button is mixed in with all the other buttons and looks exactly like them, so it's a search to find it each time.
But, it did cook the food well. And I must say that Amazon was very good about letting me just ship it back postage free for a full refund. Amazon is the best!Get more detail about Sharp R-230KK 800-Watt 4/5-Cubic-Foot Compact Microwave, Black.
